After weeks of wearing it on non-demanding jobs (holding handrails on stairs, turning doorknobs, turning car steering wheels, touching electronic screens, etc.) my index finger gloves are worn out and velcro straps are often untied! I found a simple partial solution to the Velcro problem: rub the rough area (hook area) with a strip of tape; This will remove accumulated dust and lint. I wrap the tape around a finger and rub the velcro several times in the same direction. It worked right away! But the remedy must be repeated every few days. Also, if the velcro straps break when I'm off my duck strap, it helps to push firmly with a clockwise and counterclockwise twisting motion to get the velcro hooks and loops hooked. If you don't have duck tape, you can use an old toothbrush, hard plastic comb, or good quality tweezers to remove lint and other particles stuck in the rough Velcro. ANOTHER REMEDY is to light a match and bring it close to the soft part of the Velcro (but not too close!) to make the loops curl or bend more; You don't want them to burn out. This lit match method works! The stickiness of my straps has been improved to be as good as new or even better! Use both the duck tape and lit match methods for best results. UPDATE: I've added a small strip of double-sided velcro to each glove. This works best I've ever done; but it still helps to press firmly on each strap and rub in an up-and-down and side-to-side circular motion to better snag and loop those Velcro hooks and loops.
