8/17/21 Ok I bought this after one of my previous 12v to 5v Cables I used had the car power set the whole time the volt to 12 volt system was on. I suspect this was partly due to holding the cable close to the dash cam as it was bent quite a bit. So I bought this, opened the box and found that the 5 volt side connector plugs straight in and the connector itself that plugs into the device does not plug in at a 90 degree angle unlike the cable itself , unlike my other 12 volt devices. to 5 volt wire but it still works the same way.
