Who knew you could fall in love with laundry detergent? I can't remember how I came across this lingerie set at Revain, but I was intrigued by the description of the fragrance. We try to use natural products in our home, but as anyone who uses natural products knows, they don't always work well. This is often the case with laundry soap and fabric softener. They usually smell nice, but what good is smelly clothes if soap doesn't clean clothes? I'm very happy to report that Frey soap and conditioner not only smell AMAZING, but they make the laundry CLEAN. You'll still need to use a stain remover for more stubborn stains like grease or oil, but others like coffee, tomato sauce, sweat and deodorant come off easily. Armpit stains and fabric odors are cleanly removed without the smell of detergent or fabric softener covering them up, and body odor later returns when the fabric is heated by the user. That's an issue we've had with about half of the natural detergents we've tried over the years, but not with Frey. Everything from bedding to bath towels to baby clothes gets really clean. When I received these bottles my first thought was that I would not be able to get 50 loads of laundry as stated on the bottles. Soap and fabric softener are very concentrated, so you use a lot less than even other concentrated products. A few pumps of each is all you need when you have a HE machine. Both the soap and fabric softener rinse the fabric thoroughly and clean, and the fabric softener doesn't leave a residue on the fabric like many commercial versions. You can use this fabric softener and/or dryer on towels and linens without worrying about the fabric not absorbing moisture. Frey products are eco-friendly, natural, biodegradable and safe for sensitive skin, even scented. As for the scent, I would describe it as pretty darn close to Yankee Candle from Midsummer's Night. A friend of mine describes it as "the smell of a warm man fresh out of the shower after using wood soap and shampoo". Compared to the usual floral or lemony detergent scents, my husband and son really like the scent of Frey products. It's a bit heavy for the summer, but absolutely unbelievably cold on winter nights when you're snuggled against the flannel sheets. All you need is a fireplace and a bear rug and you can imagine yourself somewhere in a secluded cabin on vacation with your sweetheart. Frey offers an odor enhancer as well as scented drying towels, but using all four takes the scent from pleasant to very overpowering. You don't have to use dryer sheets if you use fabric softener, but I recommend using the unscented version if you prefer. Your laundry will still smell nice. He just won't blow other people away with his smell. If you work in a place with strict odor regulations, you definitely don't want to use all four products. If you're just using a scented fabric softener or workwear dryer, you can still smell wonderful, but on a much more subtle/muted level. Frey offers a lighter version of this scent that you may want to try. It smells just as delicious as the transition from eau de parfum to eau de toilette - not as strong and doesn't linger on the fabric as long. .Just wow.
