It does what is described but quickly loses its frozen state and chill. I've been freezing sticks for over 24 hours, well over the 2 hours recommended on the package. I used 3 sticks in a thermos and added cold water from the fridge. Without sticks, the water stays cool for up to 48 hours. After several hours of use in a bottle, the water didn't seem to get any colder than without the sticks. It was really worse in a plastic cup. Sticks straight from the freezer offered no additional cooling. I was expecting a little less than an ice cube effect with no drain. Instead, it was minimal at best.
