I bought a new Blu-ray player and it connects perfectly to my TV. But when I want to send sound to my old stereo I have a problem. Newer Blu-ray players do not have analog audio outputs. This little box is the solution. However, a 5 volt power supply is required for this, but the required power supply is not included in the scope of delivery. It's not a big deal because many drug and electronics stores sell a "USB charger" for about ten bucks (look for a 5 volt output). The package includes a small cable to connect the charger to this device. You will also need an optional full-size HDMI to HDMI cable and a standard RCA audio connection cable (cable not included). Once I had the right set of cables and plugs in the right combination, the sound through my large stereo was wonderful.
