Go with satin! Soft and very cute for the first pillowcase
Satin pillowcase is just what you need. They protect your hair and are absolutely soft! I let my one and a half year old choose the print and he loved it. It's as soft as mine and he sleeps well on it with his toddler pillow. Can't say the case helps with his bed hair. This is a separate issue.
