Main pocket big enough for my hydration bladder and sweatshirt! The front compartment is great for stashing snacks even when the back compartment is full of my hoodie. The water hose does not leak and is easy to use. The side pockets on the hip belt are not big enough for any smartphone that I know of, but they are suitable for small change, cards, receipts and small odds and ends. The front mesh pocket makes it easy to attach your phone. Very light, reliable straps, comfortable and functional for day hikes, day trips to the fair or to the park. The only thing I would wish is that the waist belt could hold my phone, but that's secondary. I've used it for biking the Everglades, walking the Keys, kayaking and beach vacations and it fits everything you need. Not sure how waterproof it is, but it's made out of synthetic material so you can splash, but I haven't tried fully soaking it in the pouring rain.
