Terrible burning smell when running

One of the clips to hold the ladder in place broke off the first day. I like that it moves on its own although 3 AA batteries (not included) are a bit excessive. There's also a burning smell when truck is turned on and running. I've since taken out the batteries so my little one doesn't have to smell the burning. He plays with it still and moves it on his own. I've also removed the ladders since he can easily pull it off now. Nice toy but not Worth the money if there's a terrible smell when running (unsafe) and easily broken ladder clips.
