I ordered these markers on July 31st and expected a long delay as they came from Japan (delivery was promised between August 23rd and September 14th) . They were sent to me on August 4th. received it today, August 9th! HOORAY! I didn't want to spend extra money on Copic Sketch markers until I decided if I was going to take this coloring step "seriously". So Ciao seemed like a good alternative to me. They don't have as many colors as Sketch, but Ciao are great to start with. They have the same tips as Sketch and are refillable. This particular set has a lot of great colors for floral designs that I prefer to draw over "patterns". I have a few sketch markers, but I've never seen Ciao in person. ' and wondered what the difference was. The first obvious difference is the shape of the marker itself, Ciao has a round barrel, Sketch has an oval. I like the "look" of Sketch more, but the Ciao's shape should be easy to get used to since most of the markers are round. The only thing I don't like about Ciao compared to him is where the color numbers are. In the sketch, the color numbers are given at the ends of the two caps. Ciao has it on the marker's body. I wanted one of the portable cases for my markers where you can look straight at the tip of the marker and see the number. But the Ciao color numbers are hidden by the strips holding the markers. I took a course on Imagination International Inc's website (they are the North American distributor of Copic markers) and it showed the importance of mixing numbers, so it's not as convenient to have color numbers as Ciao. I made several "test strips" using all of the markers from my Copic Markers color swatch book and they were all smooth and crisp. I look forward to happy hours with them!
