Review on ๐Ÿšฝ Executive Round Toilet - ROYALE BR500 00 by Jeff Davidson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly what I wanted for Toto Drake

I've been spending too much time reading about toilet seats lately. I haven't written a Revain review in a while but buying a toilet seat was such a PIA, I hope this review helps others with their decision. We have the base model, the extended Toto Drake in cotton white. Our old slow-closing Bemis seat, while still sturdy, has turned an awkward blue and white stripe colour. I understand it's our fault, probably due to the fact that we washed it with bleach wipes, but that's a toilet seat, you know?! I was planning to buy a matching slow closing plastic seat from Toto. What I thought was a simple process has become ridiculous. Reviews for the Toto seats were mixed and not very good considering the price. I've looked at Kohler seats, Bemis plastic seats, etc. All I needed was a high quality, non-wood (because enamel wears out easily) slow-closing seat that would go well with Toto's white cotton. I'm happy to pay more for a product that will last a long time and won't end up in landfill. I can't remember where I saw a reference to the Bath Royale brand, but after searching a stupid amount overnight for a toilet seat, I bought a BR executive chair. I installed it today. I'm a middle-aged mom who can read directions. It was easy. The instructions were well written and although some people complain about the wing nuts I had no problems with them. I also made sure to tighten the seat bolts with a screwdriver instead of a wing nut (as instructed). We'll see how the seat holds up over time, but first impressions are great! The seat is thick and massive. I can actually sit on a closed lid and there is no flex. Slow closing is ideal. The extended seat goes well with our Toto Drake. The color is *very* close, but not exact. I say this as someone who is very sensitive to the combination of color and white. Toto white cotton fabric has a slight gray cast. The white BR seat isn't painted gray so feels creamier in comparison. But honestly, you never would have noticed if you weren't someone like me who pays attention. And it's subtle enough that it still doesn't bother me (which is saying a lot). Good luck with your toilet seat purchase. I will update this review if the seat shows signs of premature wear.

Pros
  • . HEAVY DUTY & SMART DESIGN: Heavier and thicker stain-resistant polypropylene will not crack, peel or fade. 4 anti-slip bumpers on the seat and lid for stability. The low profile stainless steel mounting bases look great, are easier to clean and hold the seat securely in place.
Cons
  • Only available in black
