Review on Premium Pearl: Upgraded Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker II by Agata Koacz ᠌

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The quality is worse than I have ever seen, a complete disappointment

Wanted to upgrade my mini 1 to this one. Deafening disappointment. When turning off a grounded computer, when connecting a mobile phone via cable - a continuous loud crackle of 50 Hz. It crackles even when powered from the usb port of a grounded computer, albeit quietly. Silence - only from the accumulator. Any connection to a 220 V network, through any adapter = crackling. At the same time, there are no problems with mini 1 or with any other acoustics. The column, of course, is the original, bought from a Bose official. The Bose SC commented on the situation, calling it a "feature". If the screen of a 3.5 mm jack is connected to the usb connector housing, the crackling disappears, which indicates poor-quality grounding of the screen . But this is a of the 80th level. I'm just in shock. It starts cracking even if you touch the screen of the cable with your finger! We tried other speakers (from the official Bose dealer) - everyone cracks! It’s good that I didn’t have time to sell mini 1, I returned mini 2 to the store.

Pros
  • Good treble, brighter and more sonorous sound compared to mini 1. Longer battery life. Charging from usb.
Cons
  • It is almost impossible to use with a cable, only via bluetooth. There is no filter in the power circuit or the screen of the 3.5 mm jack is incorrectly grounded. If the speaker is connected to the network - a loud crackle when working on a cable from almost any source! The exception is the iPhone. In other cases, a quiet or even loud crackle of 50 Hz.
