Bought G6R boots for a very active 18 month old German Shorthaired Pointer so he can walk and swim on hot pavement without damaging the bottom of the pool. She needed a short adjustment period to get used to the boots. About 20 minutes walk and play. She could easily walk and run in it. The pads didn't slip under her when she was chasing squirrels in the park, even when she turned around. She slipped easily on the wet grass and got to her feet easily. The straps fit well but took a while to tighten. I dropped a boot while running, but that was before I realized how tight they had to be. Once that was figured out, she could run at full speed and not take them off. The soles of the boots are thick (but not heavy) and protect against heat, glass and other objects that can cut or prick their paws on the street or the paths we walk. The only downside was that the boots turned a bit on her paws, which I corrected immediately, but I can see this as a potential issue causing chafing on her paws.
