Works great on 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Instructions for 2005 Tacoma (20-30 minutes of work). Depending on the lighting conditions, a flashlight can be helpful. Materials needed: Paper towels, contact spray, disposable gloves, new lightbulbs, a long narrow screwdriver and a 10mm socket/ratchet are optional. Do it on the driver's side first as that is the best access and knowing the procedure on the passenger side is helpful. Alternatively, you can remove the passenger side washer reservoir (two 10mm screws) to allow easy access to the passenger side lamp: 1. Remove the lamp connector by pulling straight back (no clips here) and put aside. In my case, the connections were bold. So either put on disposable gloves or clean them beforehand. Remove the round black weather cover by pulling the tabs. A screwdriver may help, but be careful not to puncture the rubber.3. There is a lamp clip (like a paperclip) that is hinged on one side and hooked on the other. Simply press the folded side and lift with one finger and the latch will open like a door. Note the orientation of the old bulb before removing it, then pull straight out.4. Insert the new bulb, refit the retainer, making sure it is fully engaged (a small-blade screwdriver may be required).5. Reinstall the protective cover, making sure it fits around the perimeter to keep moisture out of the headlight.6. If you have electrical contact spray, spray it on the connector pins (corrosion was evident in my case) before reconnecting the lamp. Repeat the process on the other side and then check the far and near beam capabilities and you should be done. Dealers charge around $120 to replace the lamp. So treat yourself to a discounted beer πŸ™‚
