Brass ceiling light flew out - the cord overheated. The spare parts available are of lower quality and not quite the same design. Bought to try and replace the inside of a lamp. Worked. The only difficulties were 1) I had to strip the wires at the ends to make the connections 2) I needed a pigtail for my mount. A fairly long wire could be saved from the old wiring. A pigtail was required as the wires on the new sockets were not long enough to go through the base of the mount. A common problem so you can buy a foot of lamp cord from Lowes/THD/etc before you start the repair. One last note - a set of sockets costs $10.99 and a new light would cost $61 - definitely a win!
