First things first YES it is waterproof and kept the phone safe for about 8-10 ft. I took this on vacation cave diving and in the ocean snorkeling. Not one drop of water got inside the pouch. No complaints . Cheap price to pay to keep your phone safe. We have also use it at theme parks when going on water rides instead of renting lockers. That in itself has saved us what we already paid for in this product. The only isssue which can be resolved is the touch screen will not work underwater. To fix this you need to keep your sleep mode disabled . This way your screen is always on and you can you the physical side butting to snap he pictures. The plastic does not hinder the photos.
