I bought a matte white 25ft. I used them in our living room for a while and just bought them for our guest bedroom. For the living room I connected two sets together. For the bedroom, one was enough to cover 2 walls. They've been great for over a year now. None of the bulbs have burned out. And I didn't see any burning on the wall or anything. The lighting too: simply perfect. It's a warm, cozy light that's bright enough to light up an entire room. However, so dark that you can look straight into the lights and it won't hurt your eyes. I have a big problem with most light bulbs being too bright when the bulb is on. And that didn't bother me at all, despite my high sensitivity. Not having to worry about the space occupied by the lamps is also very practical. And did I mention how much better the lighting is? It's an almost magically soothing light that I've never experienced with other light sources. Difficult to get it right in photos due to camera glare. The best way to mount them is using plastic cable holders with nails. I used Monoprice round cable clamps. Installation Tip: Use tape to fix the cable at the correct height first. Then you have both hands free to score them. It's a lengthy process, but you only have to do it once. Also, lightbulbs can break if you hit them with enough force, so be careful. You are glass. Luckily they offer a few spares in case this happens. I used a tape measure and installed them on the wall 11 inches from the ceiling. In fact, I think it looks prettier and less messy than the draped U pattern you usually see. Another note on installing alternatives: I've used the kind you attach with a sticky backing and they keep falling off. This is very annoying. I also used a construction stapler which worked fine, but it's very easy to accidentally staple the wire together. You should NOT connect a damaged wire as it could short out and burn your house down. Unfortunately I had to throw away one cable because it was stapled together. Basically, I highly recommend these lights if that's what you want to look like. They are of good quality and last a long time.
