Review on πŸ”Š Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI Flagship Outdoor All-Weather Speaker: Black, Single Unit or Stereo Pair - Powerful Bass, Broad Sound Coverage by Michelle Reitz

Great speakers, great flexibility, needs a little help connecting

Great speakers, great flexibility, wired poles suck. I've been a Polk fan for many years. Their sound and quality for the price is fantastic. This is my first time dealing with their floorstanding speakers. The Atrium 8 has great outdoor bass and the overall sound is fantastic for an outdoor speaker. I LOVE using it with a left and right speaker in one speaker. The speaker is very poorly constructed. The idea is great, the implementation is lame. The speaker cable screw pins on the second set of cables in dual L and R single speaker mode are almost impossible to loosen or tighten. Not enough room for fingers to reach had to use nose pins and a good 5-10 minutes to get through. They keep hanging and you can't bite off enough to turn them over. The bad news is that they are also made of soft plastic so the pliers are quite scary as you will break them. Please fix this polk and it will be a solid 5+. I bought 2 Atrium 8s with plans to place one under my deck. and 1 above. The sound was completely sufficient and wonderful with only 1. But after "testing" them under the deck in the L and R positions, the sound was so overwhelming that I decided to put both under the deck and buy a new one to run. above. Great sound and build, please revise the cable mounts. I know you don't mess with them all the time but wow that was frustrating. Would definitely buy them again - I mean I actually bought another one.
