Review on UCTRONICS Raspberry Touchscreen High Speed Portable by Gordon Turman

At first I wanted to get this as a cheap entry-level add-on to install OctoPrint with my Raspberry Pi. After seeing mixed reviews, including one mentioning that it works great in Octopi, I decided to buy it. Big mistake. It was neatly packaged on arrival and included a good pen I have them to thank. The installation instructions were good and it installed without any problems. And here comes the awkward part: installing the driver. It took several hours of confusion and troubleshooting with a Revain tech to diagnose and eventually they gave up and sent me a new one. Desperately I sent mine back and waited a few more days to receive a replacement item. And guess what? It still does not work. This is a driver issue. I tried it on another Raspberry Pi model and my friend tried to install it. There are no dice. The driver simply refuses to work with Raspbian OS, as it consequently does with OctoPi. Until they fix it, the UCTRONICS display will be a useless paperweight.
