Doesn't work with latest Raspbian

New SD card, latest Raspbian, driver installation is fine, on reboot the UCTRONICS blue screen disappears and a completely blank gray screen. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE A NEW VERSION OF RASPBIAN.

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for old people

Poor - Tablet Accessory

Not very practical screen. The resolution is about 400x300. It is upscaled to 720p but the text is unreadable. If your application is a low res fullscreen custom application, I think this screen will be useful. I couldn't even touch the top left corner for the xwindows menu to appear, even with the pen enabled. Disappointing POS

Great display but heat issue Pi

This is a great little display for the Pi 4, but there's a problem. Unfortunately for UCTRONICS, the Pi REQUIRES a fan and this display uses the pins needed to power the fan. The display worked exactly as described and I was impressed with the resolution for such a small display. But without the fan, the Pi's temperature continued to rise until it was throttled. Again, this problem is NOT related to the display. But until I find a way to cool the Pi while it's plugged in, the display won't work

it looks cool That does not work. No help documentation

I hate giving one star reviews but I think I have to. I picked this up because it had good reviews, but I only checked out the best ones. As I read more it seems this might only work on certain builds of Raspbian. ? Not sure because like others when I installed the driver the Pi got confused and had to do a full reset to get rid of the driver. There is virtually no documentation for this. It will likely just sit in a drawer until they provide more detailed troubleshooting instructions, document

Works with Octoprint

I bought a screen to work with Octoprint on a Raspberry Pi 4 B. I've spent hours trying to install and reinstall the driver, but I still can't get it to work. I found a schematic video on YouTube but it only showed the installation on a Raspbian system. I contacted support and they updated the driver a few days later and also refunded for the inconvenience. The screen is excellent for the price with vivid colors and good touch sensitivity. Anyway if you are looking for a good raspberry pi…

Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for that startup logo

Github doesn't include all versions of the Raspbian OS build, but simply manually copying the latest version available in the package worked for me. A bit annoying though. Otherwise, the screen refresh rate is much higher than other popular brands that cost about twice as much. Again, this is a great screen for a custom camcorder project. My only complaint is that when initially activated, their logo becomes very large on the splash screen within a few seconds. For my custom projects, this…

Drivers don't work.

At first I wanted to get this as a cheap entry-level add-on to install OctoPrint with my Raspberry Pi. After seeing mixed reviews, including one mentioning that it works great in Octopi, I decided to buy it. Big mistake. It was neatly packaged on arrival and included a good pen I have them to thank. The installation instructions were good and it installed without any problems. And here comes the awkward part: installing the driver. It took several hours of confusion and troubleshooting with a…

As advertised in Computers & Accessories

System: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with Raspbian Buster (NOOPS). The installation instructions are legible and the installation is easy and quick, but some system knowledge may be required when installing on another operating system. as Raspbian. The screen resolution was wrong on the first reboot and had to be reset to 640x480 to display properly. The resolution is good, the viewing angles are okay (apart from the background image, which cannot be seen on the left). As I said, the HDMI output is still…

Works with OctoPrint/OctoDash (after long revision)

It took about 10 hours for this thing to work for my application but I was finally able to do it. I'm not deducting a star for that because I think it's a problem with all these TFT screens and my particular application. I like the refresh rate and the button to turn off the display backlight - it's nice to be able to reduce power consumption and heat. The detail seems to be done decently and I had no issues with the screen itself. Here are the steps I took to get OctoDash working on rPi - I…

You may need to adjust the setup script - see

for details. I am using this screen on a Raspberry Pi 4B. So I have this screen, as well as the similar Adafruit 3.5"TFT+. Both are clickable, appear in a hat style, and both require drivers to be installed in order to work (neither of which you can just load from a fresh SD card first). Booted the card, I connected via SSH and installed the drivers, which at first glance seemed to be successful. There was a non-fatal error which caused the script to not be able to find the specific file it was…
