Small plug extender (minor design flaw)

I bought these to maximize socket space (without buying the whole extender) and am happy with the result. I found this design incredibly odd because it appears to block a different outlet depending on how your outlet is mounted (sideways or right side up, etc.). I would also like it to include a USB port. Spring. They were inexpensive and do their job well. I would like to change the design a bit.
