Review on 🚗 Metra 99-8901 Single DIN Installation Kit: Perfect Fit for 2005-2007 Subaru Legacy (Excluding Outback Sport) by Shakim Yates

Installed on a 2006 Legacy Wagon. The side brackets must be screwed to the air conditioning housing with the original screws, but since everything is not right, the screw was inserted at an angle and the hole, which is only plastic, was cleaned. After everything was bolted, everything turned out to be tight, but time will tell. This wasn't the only place where the plastic was misaligned. There are also small gaps on the bezel that don't look great, but in the end I was able to replace the very poor stock radio with a much better Kenwood unit for relatively little money. Take your time to complete the installation and make sure you cover the holes under the seats with something, as that's where a screw came loose and is lost forever. Luckily I had another one on hand that worked. The magnetic screwdriver will really make your installation easier. Total labor time was about 2 hours including crimping the wires to connect the bundles. It hurt too. If you plan ahead, get a special crimping tool to speed up the process.
