These hooks look solid and I imagine some buyers will put them on the 'correct' surface but live for those we in typical homes these things built in the last 20 years or so don't last nearly as well as Amazon's cheap plastic alternative. - like glue on the back. Instead, they come with two thin strips of adhesive on each end and four little tubes of cheap glue that you have to leave on the back of the hooks to make them stick! That's right - these little guys are glued to your wall. Even with glue, two hooks with empty daypacks fell off within hours of sticking. Ridiculous. I sent them back to Amazon and bought more plastic hooks. They don't look as pretty, but at least they hold the same weight on the wall.
