Tried these rustic bibs after getting frustrated with plastic ones from Luvable friends. The bibs are made of plastic, although the plastic part washes off easily, they are sewn with cotton fabric around the edges. The fabric is contaminated with food debris, which is not easy to peel off and cannot be washed in the washing machine and dryer. But these rustic bibs are great, and they're made from a very different material than plastic bibs. These rustic beginner bibs are made of waterproof fabric, not plastic. The material is soft against baby's skin and puffs up like plastic bibs. This is similar to the material salons use when you get your hair cut. Even better, the piping around the edges is the same material, so food won't get stuck on the collar! They are wiped with a damp cloth and can also be washed. The instructions say to hang dry, but I think they hold up well in the dryer. Being able to wash them in the washing machine is very important to me. I wish I had tried them sooner. As for sizing...be aware that these are "starter" bibs designed for young children just learning to taste food from 3-9 months of age. Bumpkins also makes "Super Bibs" for toddlers. Starter bibs are smaller than other baby feeding bibs. My baby is 7 months old and these bibs don't sag as low as bibs for older babies. They fall just above the waist and do a good job of catching spills. The size fits me well because the neck hole is pretty small for him right now. Large bibs have large neck openings and don't sit well under his chin. This causes food to splatter on his clothes under his chin. I appreciate that the velcro is also offset on one side, so it's a lot easier to put on and take off. These are great bibs for babies who are just starting to eat to help control the mess. I plan on getting the Super Bibs version once it gets bigger.
