But works. in Engine Cooling and Air Conditioning

Ordered this fan motor resistor to fix a non-working HVAC fan in a 2006 GMC Yukon XL with automatic temperature control. The product description said it was a front HVAC and the connectors and size looked compatible. I got it working but encountered the following issues. one). There are 2 sets of mounting holes on the replacement. The leftmost side needed to be cut to fit the body.2). The mounting holes mentioned on the OEM part have been angled 30 degrees to fit flush with the case. The replacement BMR did not have this, so there was an air gap between the BMR and the case when tightening. This was taped in place to make it airtight.3). Although the truck plugs matched the BMR perfectly, the fan motor started running as soon as I plugged it in, even though the key was removed from the truck. Adjusting the controls didn't help. I also noticed that even though the fan motor was running, no air was coming out of the vents. A quick check revealed that the voltage coming out of the new BMR was reversed, causing the fan to spin keyless and backwards. I swapped the power inputs on the 3 wire connector to the BMR which fixed the problem. I am very happy that my Yukon XL has rear heating and air conditioning again. The fan works great at medium to high speeds but not at low speeds. Whether or not it breaks after a few months, I am very happy with the product. As it seems unique to other reviews, I am attributing the experience of using it for the rear HVAC system and not the front as in the product. Designation. However, I could not find a rear-mounted BMR with automatic climate control. I would recommend.
