Thickness and feel are really great. I don't like how the boot covers add so much to the size of the handlebar so I think it's an excellent product. I was hoping the sand color would go a little better with the stock Jeep TJ tan, but it's close enough and goes well with my PRP seats. This was the first time I installed such a slide. A few tips: Use a leather conditioner before installing. This makes the skin a little more supple. Take your time. If you try to speed it up, you make it 10 times harder. Grab a beer (or two) and calm down. It took me about 1.5 hours to install. Manage your theme carefully, especially in the beginning. I slowly pulled through each stitch and dropped them through the door onto the garage floor so they wouldn't get tangled. The thread tends to tangle at first, and it will take a lot longer to unravel than just getting each stitch super neat. When you're about halfway through the thread, the thread count is low enough and enough wax has come off and you'll feel a lot better. - Tighten each stitch well and tightly. Then, every ten holes, take a minute or so and go back and tighten the last ten stitches. I used a very small screwdriver for this. Be careful not to accidentally cut the thread. I ended up with 6 feet of extra thread so don't worry about not having enough.
