I made this purchase after my netbook LCD screen broke. Don't wait before investing. I put my netbook on a soft surface and went to bed. I did not know that the factory settings are such that the netbook does not fall asleep. When I woke up in the morning I had all sorts of horizontal stripes on the screen that never went away. Luckily it was still under warranty so I sent it back and got it repaired. During the repair I ordered this set. I really needed a cool board, but the mouse and USB multiplexer were a bonus. The fans on the board will obviously drain your battery faster when unplugged, but there are options. I often use it to put my netbook on a hard surface. I will put it on the floor anywhere on the bed and not worry about overheating. If I'm doing something that takes a long time, I turn on the netbook and turn on the fans for extra cooling.
