Works great. I bought it for my 5 year old granddaughter's birthday. She was able to play with it immediately with her 7-year-old sister. They (with their parents) walked around the lake, each in the opposite direction, and could talk the whole time. They also worked great when they were in different rooms or on different floors of their home. They're small enough for a little girl's hands, easy to use, and even a flashlight works great. I highly recommend them.
