Works well in moderate cold, but not built for super cold

I installed this product and used the velcro straps to snugly place it over the backflow preventer. We got down to 11 F and it was not able to keep the BFP from freezing and busting. I think this product works well in moderate (say 20F and above), but not supercold.

Pros

Looks like it will last longer than previous product, tune will tell.

Cons

The product may not be suitable for backflow preventers that are regularly inspected
