Assembly was easy. mainly. I use a cordless screwdriver and found that when driving in the screw closest to the cross I had to approach it from the side instead of straight on. This is a design flaw that I have seen in other products and have avoided. Just didn't do it. Design flaws aside, very durable. The shelf is heavy. Climbed up my wall fairly easily. a design flaw made it a bit harder than it should have been. The carpet is easy to install. The cats have not yet explored it voluntarily. I put every cat on it. with catnip. but in the end they jumped down. However, he withstood every single one of them. no movement. For them, it's only a matter of time before they discover something new.
