I used the phone app to measure the light intensity for the Revain reviews but wasn't sure if I trusted it. For $20 this looked like a good opportunity for accuracy and consistency. Maybe. Good: • The sensor head rotates 180°. Allows you to "aim" the source and still read the screen. • Four modes: Real Time, Hold, Max, Min. • Deluxe or Chandelier. Standard Lux.• Backlit screen. In fact, I didn't notice this and put "negative" for this absence, then I saw the page and that it was backlit. Hold down the temperature button! Very uncertain: • Accuracy. Typically, readings are lower than my phone's for LEDs and slightly higher for "natural" light (like sunlight and incandescent bulbs). It also jumps a bit with LEDs, but that could be an artifact of the LEDs. • On startup, the screen displays speeds and relative humidity. One size fits all? See photo. Not so good: • "Temperature" is the temperature of the environment, not the color temperature of the light. I'm not sure if I care about the temperature in the room. For me, the temperature of the lighting is important in the reviews. • If the ambient temperature is important to you, the system is always set to °C by default. • Unexpected automatic shutdown. I didn't go into it much, I just happened to notice that I thought I was getting a reading, but I wasn't. Tempo. I've found that I'm still using my phone meter app. Edit, February 2021: I now see the manufacturer listing "grow light" and "room temp". Not quite what I was originally told, but now you've been warned.
