Review on 📀 Humax DRT800 DVD-R/RW Recorder and TiVo Series2 DVR Combo by Girish Underwood

I had the same problem as many here where the remote works fine and then after 2-4 weeks it suddenly becomes sluggish and makes you want to throw it It and tivo through the window. I even called Humax to get a replacement remote and they were supposed to send one but never did. I didn't care as I had picked up some good AA batteries (cheap Walgreens) the day after my call. Plugged them into the remote and voila! Everything was back to normal, no more lags, no more standing right in front of the box and hitting the button a million times to make it respond. a previous Tivo remote but I hadn't tried the others when I called Humax (and they asked if I had replaced the batteries, which I did, just not with the other fresh pair I bought them from ). So I assume that while the remotes and IR sensors could be a little bad, the main issue (at least for me) was the batteries, which they sent with the unit itself. As for burning DVDs and such, I've had a few bad burns. I don't like recording things in basic mode and sometimes the recording gives some kind of crash/error while recording and no matter what you try to burn it won't (or it will be the only scene on the DVD-RW, which can then be transferred to a computer). burned a lot of things (movies and over a dozen TV series) and I only had problems with two episodes of Alias and two other movies failed to pick up. But under normal circumstances, not only do these DVDs play perfectly on the tivo DVD player, but also on each of our 7 DVD players in the home (2 desktops, a laptop, a portable DVD player, 2 Xbox and our old standalone DVD -Player previously we had Humax). We've used Memorex DVDs and even good cheap Office Depot DVD-R/DVD-RW discs. that work great, are affordable, and also come with an Office Depot guarantee to work (you can return them if they don't).
