Review on 🔍 TEN-HIGH CO2 Laser Lens 20mm - ZnSe Laser Mirror for Engraving & Cutting Machines by Doris Tran

When I opened the package, it was immediately clear that the lens was clouded. I gave the lens the benefit of the doubt and gave it a try anyway, assuming the lens might be blurry to visible light but would be transparent to IR. I cleaned it and installed it in the laser cutter and lo and behold there was a big muddy burn mark. The photos show the TEN-HIGH lens on the right and my old lens on the left. The haze is NOT due to surface imperfections or poor polishing, and in fact the polishing looked quite good. The problem was that the material itself was cloudy and if you looked closely you could see small grains or inclusions or something. I'm honestly very surprised that it reached the customer because it wasn't a polishing error or anything, it's just that a quick look shows it's translucent.
