Not what I expected
I thought these inserts would work well for me when using them to dry my tomatoes but I was wrong in that assumption. First, they significantly increased the overall drying time of the fruit and gave the final product an uneven texture. Second, they cannot be restored to their original state. The tomatoes soiled them badly and I can't get rid of the smell. I ended up drying fruit on the original racks that came with it, which in hindsight worked really well.
