I was so disappointed to see the thermometer rise from 84 to 87 degrees as it 'cooled' the room. Not so. I have previously purchased a standard Lasko bladeless tower fan that had room ion removal capability (which this one did not) and I would have been happier if I had gone for the same fan with the same promise of no. in providing a cooling effect. Not at all. I know that an air conditioner costs a lot more money because it works very differently and uses a lot more electricity. But that's not an intermediate compromise between them - at least not for me. It's just the movement of the molecules that cools the air naturally, and my half price Lasko really outperforms it in that regard. So I sent it back shortly after, but not before, on top of that! Rattling noises started for no apparent reason which further reinforced my decision to return it.
