Updated 11/28/19 I have removed a number of reviews that were out of date as I have learned more about the keyboard/software and lighting since reading them own . Keep the static color after I uninstall Synapse. In the 11/13/2019 update below (I uninstalled that update) I still had Synapse installed and sometimes I opened it and then disabled it and that's why it changed my colors. If I leave it disabled or remove it, the keyboard remembers my color even after rebooting or waking from sleep. Update 11/11/2019 I found that you can only change colors with the keyboard, using the FN and CTRL keys (while holding both) along with the 1, 2, 3 and 4 keys (use these to to change color, strobe, etc.). Key number 2 (first press the FN and CTRL keys while holding both) is the one you use to cycle through the static colors. It's not very intuitive, but you'll get the hang of it once you play with it. I happened upon this while browsing a YouTube review and someone in the comments mentioned it. When Razer talks about how to do this, I seem to have missed it in the manual. Having learned that, I would give the Razer KB 5 over the Steelseries TKL Omipoint. The Steelseries are good, but I prefer the Razer, and the Razer was $80 less than when I bought it. The Razer was listed as used and in acceptable condition with damage. But the damage was only on the packaging, and in the box the keyboard was like new. I have found many products on Revain that are listed as damaged, only the packaging is damaged and the product is in perfect condition. I have saved EVERY $200 on some items like motherboards, GPUs and monitors by buying a 'damaged' item and inside it is like a new product. First Review: Very limited time with these devices, so just some quick first impressions. I have a new Viper Ultimate mouse and Huntsman TE keyboard and am having software (Synapse) issues. This will be random as I will be adding reviews as I use the devices. I really like the mouse and keyboard in general, they seem to be high quality materials, it's software only and no color profile saving which is a BIG con for me. I also have a new Steelseries Apex Pro TKL with Omipoint switches and the switches feel a bit smoother to me. The Steelseries is MUCH quieter than the Razer, the Razer keyboard is LOUD. The Razer sounds cheap/loud/muffled but feels very solid when typing or gaming. In addition, Steelseries can be used without installing any software and you can change settings directly from the keyboard. Razer's keycaps are much better in my opinion. They feel slightly textured and heavy/heavy compared to the smoother Steelsires keycaps and light/hollow feel. If you're ok with the Razer software installed and a REALLY LOUD keyboard, I'd go with the Razer Steelseries given the price difference. To me, Razer feels just as "fast" as the Steelseries, with the Ominipoints activation point set at 0.4mm. Both are very sensitive and you have to be careful when putting your fingers on the keys, they can be easily "disabled". noticed unusual activity from reviews on this product. Because of this activity, we have restricted this product to verified purchase reviews." I purchased the mouse directly from the Razer Online Store. However, you will need to install software to turn off the backlight on the mouse and charging dock. A major downside is that without the Software can't determine the battery level without the software installed, although I don't see that. For comparison I also have the G903, G203, Model 0 and Model 0-. I prefer the Razer Viper Ultimate, G203, Model O-, Model 0 and G903 in that order for gaming For general desktop use, the G903 is by far the best/my favorite with "hyper scrolling".
