Review on ๐Ÿš— Portable Mini Car & Travel Cool Mist Humidifier with Plug-in Adapter, 5.7 Inch Tall, Black - Canary Products by Heather Schmidt

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great for humidifying cars or cabins (while running)

Ease of use: It was easy to put together, the instructions were pretty clear on how to start it and keep it clean. I sorted the pieces inside, took out the cotton wick, moistened it and put it back in, then turned on the device that was plugged into the outlet. One press kept the fog flow constant, a second press made it intermittent, and a third turned it off. It is very easy to use and the fog flow is constant. I put my hand on it for a few seconds and felt the moisture build up, so it's definitely working. It also has a handy car adapter and vent/cup attachment. Why I bought it: I found out about these little humidifiers because a friend of mine had one in his car. In Chicago you have to turn on the heating in the car during cold winters, but it gets very dry. With the heater on, my nose always gets stuffy and my mouth gets dry, so I usually keep the heat low, but then it gets really cold. I hope this helps me stay warm but still be able to breathe! It's not cold enough to use this yet, but I'll update this post later! I too have dryness symptoms at work and am tempted to buy another one for my cabin! Cons: I wasn't thrilled when I saw that it looked a bit dirty out of the box (see photo). There were smudges of dirt or grease on the white plastic part of its build that were difficult to remove (at least I hope it's just grease). I had to rub pretty hard with rubbing alcohol to get most of it off, but a faint stain was still visible in a few spots. At $25-$30 you'd think someone could wipe the grease off before packing it up and leaving even more stains on it. EDIT: I removed one star from my original rating. It's been 2 months since I started using it and in that time I've found that it stops working in the car intermittently, especially when I leave it in the car all day at work (even one day without freezing point). I think it might be the wick drying out because I have to shake it a little and wait a few minutes for it to work again. Even if it works again, the fog can be either strong or weak. If he's strong he may or may not weaken and disappear completely, and if he's weak he can get stronger, so it's contradictory. I find that removing it from the machine seems to help, although the fog flow may still stop and take a while before it works again (with a little shaking and whatnot). Still, I like the humidifier because it seems to help with dryness in the car, and when it's working the mist can be quite heavy. EDIT 2: I stopped using it in the car because of its inconsistency. I've used it by the bed and found that it stops because of water pooling in the hole where the steam comes out. As soon as I soak up the water with a cotton swab, steam comes out.

  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
