Review on GE Lighting 33774 Diameter Fluorescent: Bright and Energy-efficient Lighting Solution by Jesse Nguyen

I bought this to upgrade to a 1960's Luxo loupe and to replace the original bulb (it still worked but was very dim). In terms of strength, the old GE bulb was heavier and it was easier to tell that it had thicker glass. I broke the bulb trying to fit the bulb into the spring steel clamps. I didn't even use as much force on it, and certainly less force than the original, when I took this bulb out and put it back in the lamp. Therefore, these new lamps need to be treated much more carefully than the old ones. After the bulb broke, I didn't want to wait for a new one, so I checked the big store websites (Home Depot and Lowes). found the same bulb for $5.98 at Lowes. The pictures on their website were different, but when I bought one, it was identical to the one I got from Revain for $7.99. As other reviewers have said, what can you say about the lightbulb? The replacement turned out to be bright and starts with no problems - once carefully inserted into the lamp.
