Useful but not ideal; Skin, not skin

Although I still use my laptop for most of my computing tasks, I do enjoy using my iPad on the weekends. Typing on an iPad is a huge pain, so I wanted a keyboard. Now that I've been using this product for a while, here are my thoughts: 1. I find it silly at best and misleading at worst to refer to it as "leather" or "vegan leather" when it comes to vinyl or faux leather. It's NOT LEATHER, period. Is it made from animal hides or skins? If not, then it's not leather. 2. The magnet holds the keyboard well and firmly ONLY IF it is in its original position, which turns out to be too snug and tight for my use. Also, the iPad has to be tilted, which means moving the keyboard, moving it slightly away from the magnetized area; This causes it to easily detach from the case and creates an awkward movement problem. This also poses a potential drop/drop issue. This means I'll have to retrofit the case with velcro. It's okay, but one more step. 3. The button layout is not intuitive in terms of button layout due to its small size. And the spacing is off-centre, which takes some getting used to. It's a learning curve that will take some time to master, but I understand that with a small space, adjustments had to be made. 4. The cable for charging is only A.CORD. No block/connection. So uncomfortable! Now I have to share between my phone, iPad and keyboard and they all share a block or two. AND THE LENGTH OF THE CORD IS FUN! SO SHORT! Why?! I can't even put the keyboard on the table to charge, and leaving it on the floor is a security hazard. The included cable is 6 inches shorter than the standard iPhone/iPad charging cable and has no block/connector. This alone is enough to make me give a less than positive review. I was surprised. 5. On a positive note, I was very happy with the ease with which I was able to set up the keyboard; It connected to my iPad immediately. No problem - it was done on the first try.6. Regarding customer service: I was contacted quickly and persistently by Alpatronix customer service even before I received the keyboard case to inquire about my satisfaction and offered to fix any issues. They are very committed to supporting and maintaining a happy customer base. 7. Finally, I really wanted a pink case and carefully read the specs and reviews, but the black one rated higher. Not sure why; they seem to be the same. When I mentioned this in an email to Alpatronix, they simply offered to return this item for a refund. **UPDATE** Alpatronix customer service kept contacting me hoping to increase my satisfaction. As a result, they sent me a longer charging cable for free. While I appreciate this gesture, their persistence, and their commitment to 100% customer satisfaction, I feel my review is still an honest appraisal of the product.
