One of the best ankle supports, but not without its flaws. I wear 6 1/2 shoes so I bought the size Small according to the size chart. This was after I broke my ankle (lower fibula) and although it had healed there was still a little swelling. The Aircast arrived and I tried it and it's very comfortable and offers good support (because of the stiff sidewalls). At the same time, this orthosis is also very flexible from front to back, allowing you to bend your foot and walk properly. It's good, but after wearing it for a few hours on the 2nd day, I felt my leg was tired. I think it's because the orthosis is too tight and too low which keeps my shoes from sliding properly. tell. I think I should have ordered a medium size for several reasons: 1) As my foot and ankle are still a bit swollen, my shoe size is probably larger than usual. 2). Because my foot is slightly swollen, the part that goes under the arch of the foot is too small, causing the hard spots on the orthosis to drop too low. Since the size 6 1/2 is at the top of the size chart, medium would be my best choice for this foot. Since I still need lateral support for outdoor activities, I try the medium out. I'm not going back small as I think it might work out later when things are back to normal (if that ever happens). Once I get Medium I'll add my rating here and update the stars as needed.
