In this (temporary?) world of reckless zooming and team challenges where we practically have to have a TV/radio studio in our homes to compete with the Joneses Keeping up, this light works great. In my particular setup, my face often appeared to be either ghostly white or red depending on the time of day. With this light, through trial and error, I found some settings that worked with my particular background, lighting, and webcam. In general, the device seems quite durable, as does a smartphone holder, which I haven't used though. This will probably work fine in the field too, but it's hard to tell from my use case how well the wires will hold up. The extra battery was a nice touch, but it runs on button batteries if you don't have an active USB port handy, so keep that in mind.
