My old kettle was completely dead, so I started looking for a new one. I liked the idea of having clear glass so I can easily see how much water is in it. My last one was all metal. And I wanted it to hold a lot of water, more than my previous one which held 1.7 litres. This model meets both requirements and exceeds all expectations with a capacity of 2 liters! A bonus was a nice large opening for easy cleaning. My old one had a small hole at the top. When cooking, the blue lamp lights up, and when it's done, it goes out. It has a streamlined, sleek design. I am very happy with this purchase and only have 1 complaint/suggestion. My old model was better in one respect. The cord could be hidden by looping it securely under the base. This was a really great feature as it allowed me to adjust just the length of cable I needed. If they redesigned this for future models that would be great!
