I like the Xpand No Tie laces because, for more classic sneaker styles, they offer a look that is closer to standard white laces.I recently put a set a new set of classic lace up Vans. I liked the idea of being able to slip these on while still having the look of being laced. I did not use the enclosed clips, opting to instead to get the stretch level right where I wanted it and then double loop the laces in the topmost hole to ‘lock’ them in place. Then I finished them off with a standard shoe tie loop.My only downside with these is the caveat to make sure that you don’t cut off the excess length of the laces until you’re completely sure you have them where you want them. Once these are cut, getting the frayed ends through the lace holes is very difficult.
