This review is for the ES02-USB, Wireless Remote version. This is a great little gadget. I bought it a while ago and was about to install it - wish I hadn't waited. This is an old-school RF remote control - just like your car's remote control. Nothing to connect, nothing to damage, no drivers to install and it will never let you down. It works like a real switch. It only requires USB power - no drivers to install, no pairing apps or anything like that. The remote works fine every time as long as you're not too far away. It doesn't even have to take up one of your precious internal USB ports - it has a splitter so you can connect something else. I originally bought it because my case doesn't have a reset switch. That's great, but the power button can be even more useful: in Windows you can assign a few different functions to the power button, e.g. B. turning off your monitor(s). For example, when the device is completely turned off outside of windows, it works like a regular power button on your case. I used the USB extension cable in my case to install mine so I could hide the small device in the back of my case. It has a few exposed contacts and such, so I wrapped mine in duct tape just in case. EDIT: I've noticed a few people here complaining about having to pair the remote, especially when losing power. Not sure if they use the Bluetooth version or anything like that (*not*! The RF version is fine, don't waste your money on the Bluetooth version), but today I had a power outage at my apartment for about 6 hours. The remote still works fine, no pairing required. I didn't have to pair anything during installation.
