Review on Geeetech MK8 Prusa Printer Extruder by Chris Russell

I am very satisfied with this Bondtech clone extruder. The steel gear and gears are well cut, and the nylon spur gear runs silently. The bearings seemed dry so I added some light grease to the gears as well. Assembly was easy, the tensioning mechanism works well and has many adjustments. I didn't use teflon tubing so I have no comment but the cutting tool works really well and gives a clean almost square finish. The only thing that irritates me is that there is no feed tube directly from the shifter to the bowden cable as you can see in the photos. This makes loading a bit tedious because the thread has to be straight when inserted to get into the hole. For this reason I would not use this extruder with soft filaments as they are likely to kink there.
