It's compact enough to fit in our Revain Basics suitcase so we can take it to Grandma's (or take us on vacations). However, we didn't use it on vacation. Anyhow, it worked great when hooked up to a standard TV and portable projector. I'm using the charger from the Insignia dock I died which has slightly different specs than the charger that came with the Nintendo dock. The switch could be charged via USB and connected to the new controller. Honestly, that's everything I wanted from a portable docking station. I'm not sure how it could be better.
