I haven't cleaned my dryer vents in years, but I also knew my dryer had a good lint collector, so I wasn't worried. But the dryer has been used a lot lately, so I decided to try this product. The answer is simple - buy it! As soon as I put the brush in the vent (outside) lint started flying out - it helps to set the dryer on "lint" so it blows cool air, not hot. Not a ton of lint flew out, but enough to cover my clothes and the floor. The hardest part of this process was untangling the line as it enters the vent (clockwise as instructed). The line always wanted to turn. The second most difficult part was unscrewing the bars after I was done. It took me two vices to separate each section. But overall I'm glad I bought it and will use it every year.
