Has anyone accidentally touched a hot plate on a glass range cooker with a microfiber cloth? If so, you know the result! Big mess. What is left is usually a towel imprint on the burner with scraps of cloth seemingly stuck to the burner. it happened to me I've tried glass platen cleaner, dish soap, and anything else I can think of to avoid scratching the area. Nothing worked. YouTube was my next step and many videos show dirt being removed with a scraper, usually some kind of blade. I found this scraper and the reviews were good, it looked sturdy so I decided to give it a try. This scraper is wide and fits my hand perfectly. It comes with spare blades. I preheated the torch very, very slightly to gently heat the surface. I applied a small amount of soapy water to lubricate the blade and gently ran the blade over the surface. I felt the blade dig into the rubble and remove it. There was no time to clean the entire burner. The burner is like new again! With burnt food, etc., this will most likely work wonders. The blade handle is hollow but does not retract due to the strength of the scraper. I wish they designed it so you could stow the blade in the handle, but that's no big deal. I'm very glad I bought it, I'm sure I'll find many more uses for it.
