I can't get rid of the terrible smell
This quilted bedspread is very beautiful. However, as soon as I took it out of the plastic bag, an odor similar to motor oil hit me. It was so touching my eyes watered. I washed it according to the directions and with a full load of detergent. When the wash and rinse cycle was finished, the bedspread still had that horrible smell. I wash the cover a second time and just hope that with repeated washings the cover will shed its watery smelly fumes without showing any signs of wear.
