Finally the perfect cartridge for me!

After listening to about 20 carts in the last 3 years, I've finally found my perfect sound! In combination with the very quiet and very powerful iFi Micro iPhono MM/MC phono stage, this is sonic happiness. It replaces the Denon DL-304 which is surprisingly clean but sometimes a bit too bright for me. In comparison, this pickup sounds very full and musical, but still detailed and with a wider soundstage. The Denon's low-ends sounded glassy and fuzzy to me, which is a shame because it's so good in so many other ways. maybe it could shine more on a better arm. Using the Denon via the LEHMANN AUDIO - BLACK CUBE MM/MC PHONO PREAMP was attractive in terms of speed and detail, but also a little tiring after playing hard. Compared to the DENON DL-301II, it is more detailed and sounds less dull. The 301 has bass weight and mids shine, but the AT33 does it much better. I've never been a fan of the 301 because I like a little shine in the highs. but after a year the suspension broke down again so it may be defective. Compared to the Denon DL 103, it has almost the same body and is processed more finely. Obviously the high frequency detail is much better too. Compared to the Audio-Technica AT150MLX and Audio-Technica AT440MLA, they have a much higher density, a much more natural sound and better noise reduction (due to the low impedance). The Shure V15V with SAS is very similar in musicality and sound signature, but with better bass and a much wider soundstage. The V15 is excellent, but the AT33 sounds more exciting. Compared to the Denon DL-110 high output moving coil cartridge which used to be my favorite (even compared to the much more expensive cartridges mentioned earlier), it shares the speed (crisp drum sound). hits) and natural timbre, but much less grainy, clearer and broader. Definitely better in every way, and now that the DL-110 has doubled in price I'd suggest splurging your budget a bit more and getting the AT33EV instead. Last but not least, compared to the excellent Ortofon Super OM30 (comparable to the $440 2M Bronze), it sounds a bit more natural, with more weight behind the bass. However, Ortofon clearly has the best stylus, and you can hear that. It's also handy to be able to swap out the smaller elliptical Sty-20 diamond for dirty or light embossing, the conical for mono and the larger conical for 78's. The Ortofon pass-through tubes are my favorite moving magnet setup, but something about this one sounds more right. The Ortofon on the Dual CS5000 will remain my fallback/non-critical listening alternative. I will not lower the price for comparison, it makes no sense. The elliptical diamond is excellent, very well polished and very quiet. It's a blessing because it simplifies tuning and softens the sound, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't hear a little distortion in the deepest grooves. So I'm wondering how the Microline version (Audio-Technica AT33PTG/II) sounds, but I specifically went with EV as I was trying to get away from the brightness. I can break down and try the ML version when it wears out. As good as it sounds, it won't last long! After all, this is of the least importance, but important nonetheless. This is the coolest car yet. It's gorgeous on a black arm, especially with the matching gold screws!
