Several reviews say the SWIPE is better than the Gillette Mach 5 (5 blades). I wouldn't go that far - the Mach 5 is a great razor. Both the 6-blade SWIPE and the Mach 5 offer a closer shave than a 2-blade razor and better than any electric razor I've used. Also, each one lasts longer than the 2-blade razor and provides a closer shave than the 3, 4, and 5-blade razors I've tried. In my view, the competition for the best razor is too close. If Mach 5 cartridges ever get cheaper than SWIPE 6 cartridges, I would switch back to Mach 5. Since Mach 5 is Gillette's first shave, that's exactly what they want. young men when they get a job that gives them enough discretionary income, I expect the price will remain high for the foreseeable future.
